Blepharitis
Blepharitis is a common condition that causes inflammation of the eyelids. The condition can be difficult to manage because it tends to recur. Blepharitis occurs in two forms: anterior blepharitis and posterior blepharitis. Anterior blepharitis affects the outside front of the eyelid where the eyelashes are attached. The two most common causes are bacteria and scalp dandruff.
Color Blindness
Colour blindness is a source of danger in professions like sailing the high seas, engine drivers etc. Color blindness may be partial (affecting only some colors), or complete (affecting all colors). Complete color blindness is very rare. Those who are completely color blind often have other serious eye problems as well.
Eye Discharge or Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis is an infection caused by bacteria and viruses. This condition occurs in the subcontinent summer months during the heat and humidity of the great Indian plains. It occurs inepidemic proportions during the season. Conjunctivitis is one of the most common and treatable eye infections in children and adults. Often called "pink eye," it is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the tissue that lines the inside of the eyelid.
Burning Eyes
Eye burning with disharge is a symptom describing burning, itching, or drainage from the eye of any substance other than tears.
Itching Eyes
Itching Eyes is a common symptom in case of persons who are allergic to pollen, dust etc. People who suffer from Hay fever are the most likely candidates.
Trachoma Conjunctivitis
Trachoma Conjunctivitis is an eye infection caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, which may result in chronic scarring and blindness if left untreated.
Night Blindness
Night Blindness is the inability to see in dim light or at night due to a deficiency of vitamin A. It is due to a disorder of the cells (rods) in the retina that are responsible for vision in dim light. Rods are one of the two types of light sensitive cells in the retina. Night blindness may cause problems with driving in the evening or at night. Consult your health care provider or eye doctor. It is important to have a complete eye exam to determine the cause, which may be treatable.
